About REACH.

REACH Academy is base in the Alaska Gateway School District in Tok, Alaska.

AGSD encompasses 28,000 square miles extending north from the Alaska Range to the Yukon River and Canadian border. Schools are located in the communities of Dot Lake, Eagle, Tanacross, Tetlin, Tok, Mentasta Lake, and Northway. REACH is the district-wide correspondence school. All schools are K-12 except Tanacross, which is K-8.

AGSD services approximately 415 students in seven communities. Distances between the Central Office in Tok and outlying schools range from 12 to 173 miles. All schools are on the road system. Eagle is a fly-in site for seven months of the year.

Statewide Enrollment: We accept students from Kindergarten through 12th grade from all communities within Alaska. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st, while Pre-K students must be 4 years old on or before September 1st. Students must be under 20 years old before September 21st, unless they qualify for Special Education Services.

What REACH offers

Accessible Education

Any Alaskan of school age without a high school diploma or GED can apply to enroll at no cost. Siblings who are 4 years old can also enroll at a reduced allotment rate for core courses.

Curriculum Freedom

We assist you in choosing a curriculum but do not impose restrictions on your choices. You can opt for either online learning, traditional textbooks, or a blend of both.

Our student allotments are among the highest in the state, giving you more flexibility and resources for your child’s education.

Kindergarten - 12th grades Full Time $2,700/year

We also reimburse for internet and offer several technology purchase programs.
